First selections of the year. I use a system based on relative passing offense vs. passing defense to identify "live dogs" who have a chance to win. Basically it identifies teams with better passing offenses and passing defenses -- teams that can rise up to stop the opposition, and, if necessary, have enough offensive passing to come back from deficit (and maybe catch that back door cover). Two years ago, system went 35-30 vs. line and last year 37-25-1 vs. line. Home dogs identified did better (11-6 and 9-3-1). One should note that the system worked well in seasons where dogs did well overall.
